FALL 2009

Membership

On Sunday November 8th we proudly initiated 19 new members! The Gamma Epsilon new member class consisted of Nikki Cardillo, Ali Clancy, Brittany Ford, Devyn Frisbie, Tricia Gibb, Melissa Kenney, Mallory Kohn, Abby Lim, Danielle Lunt, Ashley Marcello, Terri Miles, Meghan Mulvany, Ashley Samuels, Michelle Swift, Kaitlyn Szupa, Sara Tobin, Brittany Vazquez, Adrianna Vizzoni, and Erin Wheeler. We are so proud of each and every one of these girls and cannot wait for them to grown and be a part of our chapter. A very special thanks to their wonderful Pledge Mom Angela Sustello.

Philanthropy – Fundraiser Projects

In September, we held Cuffed for A Cause with another Greek organization. Sisters would grab people walking on campus and put them in our fake jail. Our jail was made by Christina Kapsimalis. Once people were in jail they would either have to ask someone on the street to get them out or call one of their friends to come get them out of jail by donating money to the Speech and Hearing Impaired. This event was very successful and we cannot wait to make it an annual event! The new members also fundraised very hard with bake sales, Pita Pit nights, and selling raffle tickets. On December 9th, we hosted our annual West Chester’s Best Dance Crew. Thanks to Christine Donato the event was very successful!

Homecoming

The theme for Homecoming this fall was Wild Wild West Chester. For the parade we performed our Country theme danced with our partners Phi Kappa Sigma (Skulls). A special thank you goes out to Cassie McFarlane and Rita DeChillo for their hard work and dedication to making this dance great. Following the parade we held a BBQ that many of our Alumnae attended. It was great to catch up with all of them.

Community Service

Within our chapter we are collecting plastic bottle caps for Delta Phi Epsilon (another sorority on campus) and OCCA which goes towards chemotherapy. If 3,500 caps are collected it pays for one session of chemotherapy. We are also collecting tabs from aluminum cans to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. This fall we have participated in a couple borough clean-ups with other Greek organizations. We also participated in Hanging of the Greens. Sisters took the greens and hung them all around town.

Congrats to our New Executive Board!

Brittany Nusbaum (President), Christine Donato (VP of Programs), Kylie Lush (VP of Membership), Amanda Sarro (VP of New Member Education), Lauren Martin (Secretary), Melissa Kenney (Treasurer), and Michelle Swift (Academics)
